Three hundred and twenty-two (322) Doctors of Pharmacy have threatened to sue the Ministry of Health over failure to settle their one-year allowances.
The health practitioners have issued a 30-day ultimatum to the Ministry of Health to settle their allowances.
The lawyers of the aggrieved doctors in a letter to the MoH noted that the doctors were engaged by the Pharmacy Council acting for and on behalf of the MoH from July 2023 to July 2024.
“We are informed by our clients that all through the period of their engagement, they were not paid any allowances contrary to the settles practice.”
“We have in the circumstances been instructed by our clients to respectfully demand the immediate payment of all allowances due our clients in full.”
“Please take note that unless we hear favourably from you in any event at a date not less than 30 days from the date of receipt of this letter, we have our clients’ instructions to commence legal action against you,” they stated.
Within this period, the doctors are expecting positive feedback from the Health Ministry otherwise, a legal action will be enforced.
