Twenty Salaga Senior High School students in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region have been arrested following a violent altercation that left one person with multiple stab wounds.
The brawl, described as a chaotic free-for-all fight, created unrest on campus, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
During the operation, police recovered a locally manufactured pistol and a round of ammunition from the scene.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fight and identify those responsible for the violence.
Meanwhile, the school authorities have condemned the incident.
“We have handed them over to the police and hope they are thoroughly screened. Those found responsible should face the full consequences of the law. We are deeply disappointed by the actions of the students.”
Police have begun taking statements from the suspects.
Out of the 20 arrested students, 17 have been granted bail, while three remain in custody.
