B.E.C.E candidates empowered for academic excellence

Over 250 candidates preparing for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have been empowered by the Rotaract Club of Accra-Dansoman to focus on strategic approaches that can enable them to achieve academic excellence.

The maiden event, spearheaded by Miss. Grace Tsotsoo Quaye, a journalist and gender activist, was held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at three public schools: Obakrowa M/A Primary School, Hobor M/A Primary School and Honise M/A Primary School.

The programme was sponsored by the Member of Parliament for Obom Domeabra Constituency, Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor.

The seminar aimed to equip the students with the necessary tools and mindset to excel in their upcoming examination.

The seminar featured interactive sessions where Rotaract Club members shared study tips, time management techniques, and stress-reduction methods ahead of the exams.

The team emphasised the importance of setting realistic goals and working towards achieving them before and after their examination.

The Rotaract Club members also provided personalised guidance and support, helping the students to stay focused and motivated. They also shared inspiring stories of successful individuals who had overcome similar challenges to achieve their goals.

The seminar concluded with a call to action, encouraging the students to work towards their goals and strive for excellence and shun any examination malpractices.

The Rotaract Club members reminded the students that their BECE results would not define their future success, but rather their attitude, hard work, and determination to achieve their goals.

Miss. Quaye’s initiative to collaborate with Rotaract Club members of Accra-Dansoman to empower BECE candidates is a testament to her commitment to supporting the youth and promoting academic excellence.

Through this seminar, Miss. Quaye and Rotaract Club members made a positive impact on the students, as they enlightened the students on the need to study very hard to succeed in their exams and beyond.

The event was a huge success, with many students expressing their gratitude to the team for organising the seminar.

MP’s Pledge

At the end of the seminar, Hon. Yibor pledged to fully sponsor students who would score between 6As and 9As in the upcoming examination.

He also admonished parents to support their wards in these few days left for the examination so that they can excel in all subjects.
