What began as a quiet day in Kodiabe, a suburb of Dodowa in the Shai-Osudoku District turned into a harrowing tale of betrayal and violence, leaving the community in shock.
Two men are behind bars after a brutal attack left a 41-year-old cattle farmer, Seidu Amadu, clinging to life.
On June 28, Seidu was invited on what he believed would be a simple motorbike ride by a herdsman named Rhaman. But what started as a routine journey quickly turned violent.
According to police reports, on their way back from an aborted visit, Rhaman, riding pillion, allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot Seidu in the spine, causing both men to crash. Moments later, Seidu was shot again, this time in the eye.
Two individuals also arrived on a separate motorbike and joined the attack. The victim, bleeding and severely wounded, was abandoned in a nearby bush and his phone and GH¢30,000 in cash were stolen.

Passersby later discovered Seidu and rushed him to Ridge Hospital. He is now awaiting surgery, with doctors fighting to save his eye and remove embedded bullets.
During his hospital stay, Seidu named another cattle farmer, Nicholas, as the person who allegedly orchestrated the attack. The two had reportedly clashed previously over accusations involving stolen cattle.
A community-led manhunt led to the arrests of both Nicholas and Rhaman. They are now in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, the people are demanding justice.
