The Rotary Club of Accra Ridge has outlined ambitious plans to enhance mental health awareness and support various community projects in Accra and beyond.
During the inauguration ceremony of its new president, Oppong Agyare Agyeman-Anane, the club pledged to raise over GHC300,000 to fund these initiatives.
Under the theme “Unite for Good,” the club will focus on key areas including Mental Health Awareness, completion of the Maternity Block at the Mallam Atta market, and blood donation awards to recognize three recipients from each of the 16 regions. The club will also continue its annual medical screening exercise at Kotoso in the Kwahu East District.
President Agyeman-Anane emphasized the importance of teamwork and active participation from all members, urging them to support The Rotary Foundation through timely dues payment, attendance at meetings and projects, and positive contributions. He encouraged donations to the Polio Plus Fund to aid in the global effort to eradicate polio.
Outgoing President Rotarian Efosa Aibangbee highlighted the club’s achievements during his tenure, including increased membership and support for the Nii Amugi cluster of schools in Accra. He also noted the club’s progress in completing the Mallam Atta Delivery and Maternity Unit Clinic, which is nearing completion.
