NDC’s “Enough Is Enough ” protest against EC underway

Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are embarking on a nationwide protest against the Electoral Commission today, September 17, 2024.

This comes after the party’s leadership raised concerns over alleged discrepancies in the 2024 voter register.

The discrepancies were identified after the EC released the provisional voters register to the NDC and other political parties contesting in the 2024 election.

However, the ruling New Patriotic Party says there are no discrepancies in the provisional voters register.

Aside from that, the NDC is calling for a forensic audit of the register, which it said will enhance the credibility of the upcoming general elections.

EC, however, insists that there is no need for a forensic audit as the issues the NDC is raising are normal occurrences that will be resolved before election day.

Meanwhile, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Gbande, has also assured that any recalcitrant demonstrator who would attend the protest to cause trouble will be dealt with.

The police are accompanying the protestors to provide security throughout the demonstration process.
