A fatal road accident at Gurugu, near Tamale in the Northern Region, has claimed the lives of a couple.
Reports indicate that the unfortunate incident occurred a few hours after the couple had tied the knot on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Choggu Mmanayili in Tamale.
According to eyewitnesses, the couple were riding a motorbike to visit family members when they collided with an oncoming vehicle.
The bride, Ayisha Alhassan, reportedly died on the spot, while the groom, Salifu Abdul Rashad, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The groom was later pronounced dead following the severity of his injuries.
The heartbreaking incident has thrown both families and the wider community into mourning, turning what was meant to be a joyful celebration into a day of sorrow.
Meanwhile, the police have launched investigations into the cause of the fatal crash.
