A female police officer in her 30s has allegedly committed suicide at Mamponteng, a suburb in the Ashanti region.
It is reported that the officer who has been unable to have children due to infertility, discovered that her husband had met another woman and impregnated her.
The husband was recently transferred to Bimbilla in the Northern Region.
After discovering the information, a misunderstanding ensued between the couple.
Amidst the exchange of words, her husband informed her that he would accept the pregnancy, citing her inability to bear children since they got married.
The situation took a cruel turn when the husband began mocking the officer over her infertility, comparing her to the other pregnant woman in Bimbilla.
The officer was deeply hurt and decided to commit suicide.
The police officer, who is yet to be named, was found dead in her room by her neighbours.
The body of the deceased officer has been retrieved and deposited at the mortuary.
