Residents of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality are reeling from shock and sorrow following the tragic discovery of a young schoolgirl’s body in a pool of water late Monday night.
The victim, identified as Gloria Segoe, was found by personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) after a reported search operation around 10:00 pm on June 23, 2025.
A rescue team was deployed to the area after receiving information about a missing person. Just forty minutes later, they located and retrieved Gloria’s lifeless body from the water.

The alleged boyfriend is currently in custody and assisting with inquiries.
“This is a heartbreaking incident. Everyone here is shaken. She was so young and full of life. We just want to understand what really happened,” said a neighbour who knew the girl.
