Seven arrested over robbery spree in Ashaiman

Seven individuals, including two juveniles, have been arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command in connection with a series of robberies in Ashaiman, specifically at Sakasska Park and Dagomba Junction in the Greater Accra Region.

According to the police, the suspects allegedly attacked victims with a weapon, stealing various personal items, including an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core, an Infinix Hot 40i, a Dell laptop and charger, a backpack, a power bank, and cash.

Thanks to a swift response and support from nearby residents, officers were able to arrest two suspects, Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey, at the scene.

Further investigations and intelligence gathering led to the arrest of Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile found in possession of the stolen backpack and laptop.

The police also picked up Bernard Dzumador and another juvenile who were found with the stolen iPhone and Samsung phone.

A statement released by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Police, confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. They are expected to be put before the court soon.

“We appreciate the support from the community in helping us make these arrests. Their cooperation played a key role in recovering the stolen items,” ASP Dzakpasu said.
