The body of an unidentified man has been sighted floating in a stream at Kings Down, a suburb within the Oforikrom municipality in the Ashanti Region.
It is believed the deceased was swept away following the heavy rains on either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Residents who discovered the lifeless body floating in the water got scared, sending an alarm to others to help retrieve the body found on Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025.
Meanwhile, the police and other emergency services have yet to retrieve the body to initiate investigations.
This news comes after a lightning strike killed four children in Sefwi Awaso, located in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The children, playing outside during the heavy rain, were caught off guard by a lightning bolt surging through the air.
The shockwave sent ripples through the close-knit community, leaving families devastated.
“We only heard the loud crack and were told immediately that our children had been struck by lightning,” said one parent, her voice filled with sorrow.
