West Ham have rebuffed a £50million bid from Tottenham to sign Mohammed Kudus, according to reports.
The Daily Mail understands that the Ghana international is keen on a move. He will need little convincing to accept personal terms with the Hammers’ London rivals.
Kudus has an £85 million clause for Premier League clubs, active for the first 10 days of July. The forward is one of West Ham’s most sellable assets. The club has accepted that they will need to sell before they can buy.
European clubs will have to pay slightly less for Kudus (£80m). Saudi Arabian sides must cough up a whopping £120m.
Tottenham’s latest bid was rejected. However, it is understood that the two clubs are still engaging in negotiations over a deal. This information is according to The Athletic.
There has also been contact from Chelsea to register their interest in Kudus. While there has not been an official bid tabled yet, there has been informal talk over acceptable figures.
Kudus would be Tottenham’s second signing under new boss Thomas Frank, after Mathys Tel’s loan move was made permanent last month.
The 24-year-old would also be the first transfer between Tottenham and West Ham in 14 years if a deal is agreed.
