Two police officers, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo have been interdicted by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly extorting money from a motor pillion rider in Accra.
The incident reportedly occurred on July 22, 2024.
A brief statement from the police indicate that the two officers were placed under immediate investigation on August 9, 2024, after the allegations, which went viral, caught the attention of police leadership.
The statement also confirmed that the officers are currently assisting with the investigation and will undergo the due process of the law.
